i cant believe we did it. attended more than 10 hours of live music at fort canning park. the atmosphere was so awesome. the energy was electrifying. the screams were deafening. not to mention that the heat was scorching. but all in all, it was worth the sweat and screams just to see all the artistes performing their music.
New Found Glory, Lost Prophets, Travis, Simple Plan, Melanie Subono, Crowned King, Dearest and Melee. Stacie Orrico, Jamie Scott, One Republic, Jason Mraz, Rick Astley, Pussycat Dolls, Alicia Keys.
15 acts all within 48 hours.
missed the act by Melee as my dear friend was late. managed to hear Melee sing the last two sentences though. despite that, the vocals of the lead singer was clearly powerful, blowing people away with his crooning voice.
we managed to stand near the stage, damn, those models were hot. imagine six to seven HOT models parading the stage, pretending to be trashing each other out. plus plus, they were only wearing Levi’s jeans. yes, no shirt, just washboard abs. it sure did excite the women screaming at the top of their lungs while watching those models giving icy cold stares and with a perfect smile plastered on their faces.
right, no pictures, cuz i did not bring my camera. should have brought it though. i would have totally captured clear views of those models given that the camera can zoom in 10 times. washboard abs could have been seen so clearly!
but yea, bury the idea, cuz no pictures, unless lse has clear enough photos. do u have it lse? cuz i want it myself.
Lost Prophets was awesome. am not much of a rock fan, but Lost Prophets was pretty amazing with their music and the interaction with the audience. Simple Plan was pure fun where you got to jump insanely like nobody’s business. Travis simply brought the house down that night, getting almost every single person to jump like kangaroos lol.
the second day was triple of what i said in the first paragraph :P if you had been there, the crowd was simply amazing. it was almost triple the number of people from the previous day. by the time lse and i entered the grounds, every single metre square of grass was taken up by people!
we managed to squeeze our way through, passing through people and standing in front of some, as if they didnt exist. i wished i was nearer to the stage, but heck, if we had gone nearer, we wouldnt be able to see any of the artistes on stage.
it’s okay, i had my camera by my side, to help capture precious memories of Mraz and him playing his guitar. he made us do the high five and the low dough (dow?) which i thought it was weird, but heeeey, it is Mraaaaaaz, my love.
i didnt capture the opening song he sang, which wasnt any of his songs, but just greeting in a form of a song to us Singapore! :D his voice is so..melodic.
i have to admit that i didnt like him at first, especially when his song ‘Geek in the Pink’ was playing almost everywhere. that song gave me a bad impression of him. but hey, his recent album, i love every single song!
he didnt play my favourite songs :( he played songs that were more for dancing and having fun. oh well. better than nothing i guess.
Panic at the Disco and Alicia Keys were pretty much a letdown. PATD had some technical problem so the lead singer spent his time singing to himself while the crowd at the far back were stunned at his performance. it was hilarious to see everyone with the astonished look on their faces.
the crowd started to chant when PATD continued with their second song. one guy even shouted that he wanted his money back. poor PATD. the lead singer looked so lost lol.
whereas for Alicia Keys..i dont know. her vocals are powerful indeed, but not the kind i would love to hear everyday. i would be bored to tears and definitely click the next button on my itunes. lse and i were waiting for her ‘No One’ song, but we waited all night..we decided to leave before everyone left. just to let you know, when the crowd starts moving, it is packed like sardine!
it was only when we booked our cabs that Alicia Keys started singing that song we had been waiting all night. so much for waiting..
right, photos will be up the next time round. just the artistes. this is meant to be a private blog..remember? wouldnt want any random blog hoppers to recognize me :P
until then!
